Indigenous Prayer Network

"After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands..."

Revelation 7:9

It was at the 2013 Gideon’s Army prayer gathering at Yevarola, that the Lord gave birth to the Papua New Guinea Indigenous Prayer Network (PNGIPN).  We began to understand that the PNGIPN is the platform for indigenous people groups to be able to deal with issues especially to do with bondages specific to those people as well as issues surrounding the land.

It has taken on different shapes in different places.  The Motu Koitabu Indigenous Prayer Network is a very strong network that was established in 2014 and helped the Motu people rediscover their identity and authority over their lost inheritance since colonial times.  The Sandaun Indigenous Prayer Network is the prayer network that covers the province and coordinates all the smaller local networks around the Sandaun province.  The Indigenous Prayer Network in Madang has helped the people to work through various injustices stemming from colonial times.

We pray that Indigenous Prayer Networks are established across the nation to help the indigenous peoples overcome the particular issues they face, as well as make it much easier to coordinate national prayer initiatives.
